Aurora

Aurora is a monumental projection structure conceived to give artists the freedom to perform and exhibit beyond conventional venues. Designed for fast, discreet setup, it enables temporary cultural moments to appear in unexpected places—allowing theatre, music, dance, film, and media art to unfold wherever context and imagination meet.

I initiated the concept and overall idea for Aurora, envisioning it as both an architectural object and a cinematic canvas. Beyond the structure itself, I led the art direction for the commercial film that introduced Aurora as a new tool for artistic expression in public space.

The project materialized through two site-specific installations. The first paired a cello performance with a large-scale, fluid color animation—merging live music and projected motion into a single immersive experience. The second was an announcement installation for Transit, using Aurora as a visual amplifier for sound, rhythm, and anticipation.

Both installations were presented in front of Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen, where the structure transformed the museum’s forecourt into a temporary stage—bringing contemporary performance, light, and projection into direct dialogue with the city.
